A lot of people have asked me what exactly is The Dreaming Café?
Well, right now, The Dreaming Café is just an idea.
The idea for The Dreaming Café was born in Las Vegas last summer while attending a writing and marketing workshop. It was born from the seed of desire to share the written word and to help people learn and grow.
Written words in the form of books are my favorite.
They have always been there to support, educate and inspire me. I love to give books as gifts. I want to share my favorites and buy copies for friends, but I often buy books I think someone may personally enjoy or books I think will help someone in some way.
But, books are just one way to share the written word.
Ask any soldier stationed overseas, away from his family and he or she will tell you how much a letter or email means to them.
Letters, emails, a few words of encouragement in the margins of a student essay, a birthday card with a personal message written inside, a newsletter, magazine or newspaper article, a press release.
All are ways to share.
My favorite, a minuscule piece of paper folded in half, shyly slid across the table from my five-year-old niece during one of our lunch dates. A capital “I”, a heart, and a capital “U”.
I love you.
The written word is truly a precious gift.
I love to read and to write and so that is really what The Dreaming Café is all about. It is my way of sharing the written word-sharing ideas, stories, thoughts, books, articles, etc in ways that hopefully educates, motivates and inspires.
I’m not sure if The Dreaming Café will ever open its doors in the real world, but in the meantime I invite you to share the written word with me.
